Chapter 3
It had been several hours when Carol finally opened her eyes. Her vision was still blurred, so she couldn’t make out what was around her. She started to take in a deep breath but stopped herself short at the horrible smell of plastic, trying not to gag. Then her vision suddenly cleared. She was inside of what she guessed to be a large glass tube; the kind of like the ones in alien space ships in sci-fi movies, suspended in a bright green fluid. She looked down in front of her and saw that she had what appeared to be an oxygen mask attached to the front of her face so she could still breathe.
That explains that horrible smell. She thought, desperately trying to move her hands, only to find them bound together behind her back. She hoped to have more luck with her feet, but saw that her ankles were tied together beneath her. She was still wearing the same clothes that she walked Zim home in, then the truth hit her like a bolt of lightning.
Zim... She growled, deep within her mind.
Then there was a knocking on the front of the front of her tube.
Carol looked down in front of her, and saw Zim smirking at her.
“Comfy?” The Irken asked, the cocky side of his nature truly showing through. He knew that Carol wouldn’t answer him, she couldn’t. He smiled evilly at her, “You should have taken the Dib-human up on his offer...My Tallest will pleased without...” Zim turned his heel, and marched back over to his computer, entering in what Carol guessed to be coordinates.
Carol looked back down when she heard someone tapping on the glass.
An adorable little green dog sat in front of her, his eyes welling up with tears. He turned his sad face to Zim, “Master...” He sniffled, “Why is the pretty girl inside the tube? What did she do wrong?”
Zim never turned to answer his servant, “She’s going to be sent to the Tallest GIR! And the first wrong turn she made was associating herself with the Dib-human.” He growled as he said his rival’s name, showing how much he really hated him.
Carol stared mournfully down at GIR, she knew that he wanted to help her; but there was no way he could.
GIR placed his small black paw on the glass tube once again, “She has pretty eyes.”
Zim cringed in disgust, “The very colour sickens me. But it doesn’t matter.” He pressed his finger down on a button, starting the two hour count down. “When that number reaches zero,” Zim paused and pointed at the clock, “She’ll be transferred directly to the Massive and to my Tallest.” He looked back at Carol, an evil grin spreading across his face. “Dib won’t stop me this time.”
Elsewhere; Gaz stared wide eyed at her brother, “Carol...kissed you...” She repeated, still in shock.
Dib chuckled, still in a daze from what happened, “I know...Isn’t she great?”
Gaz gave her head a good shake, trying to snap out of her shock; it worked. “You did something to her, didn’t you?” She growled, taking another drink from her apple juice.
Dib glared at his sister, “WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THAT??” He screamed, his face beet red, “IS IT SO HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A CUTE GIRL ACTUALLY LIKES ME??”
Gaz raised an eyebrow at her crazy brother, “...yes.” Then she walked back into her room.
Dib took a moment to calm down; then sat down on the couch in front of the phone, anxiously waiting for Carol to call him. Little did he know of the real danger that Carol was in at that moment.
